New Entries In Euronext 100 And Next 150 Indices

Euronext Indices B.V. yesterday announced the following changes in the Euronext 100 Index and the Next 150 Index: Under the condition that the General Assembly of Canal+ shareholders accepts the take-over offer from the French company Vivendi on December 8 2000, the French company Canal + will be deleted from the Euronext 100 index. The deletion will take effect on Monday 11 December 2000, in accordance with rule 6.3.3 of the index ground rules.

KCBT Wheat Futures Tops Annual Trading Volume Charts, Setting New Record

For the seventh year in a row the Kansas City Board of Trade has set a new annual trading volume record in the hard red winter wheat futures contract. At the conclusion of yesterday's trade 2,329,020 contracts or 11.645 billion bushels had traded thus far in 2000. The previous record was set just last year, at 2,321,059 contracts or 11.605 billion bushels. Approximately three weeks remain to add to the record for this year.

iShares S&P Global 100 Exchange Traded Fund begins Trading On The NYSE - Leading Global Companies Available For Trading under Single Ticker -- IOO

The iShares S&P Global 100 Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) began trading on the New York Stock Exchange today under the ticker symbol IOO. The new ETF is the first product available to U.S. investors that tracks the S&P Global 100 Index, an equity index developed by Standard & Poor's and the New York Stock Exchange that is comprised of 100 leading companies whose performance is tied more to global economic, competitive, and industry trends than headquarter locations.

Hardwick Simmons Named CEO Of Nasdaq

The Board of Governors of the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (NASD®), announced today its decision to name Hardwick Simmons as chief executive officer of The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. (Nasdaq®). Simmons, the former president and chief executive officer of Prudential Securities Incorporated, will assume this position on February 1, 2001. The NASD Board also named Richard G. Eurex Bonds: Leading Platform For Bond Trading Continuing Rise In Turnover: Peak Daily Volume Of 1 Billion Euros

Eurex Bonds, the electronic communications network (ECN) for bond trading, which is operated jointly by Eurex and leading market participants in bond-trading houses, has advanced to become the market leader in bond trading. Volume of some 2.6 billion euros was traded during the last week of trading; the record high on a daily basis amounted to 1 billion euros in German government bonds.

Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Western Barley Futures Prices In Upward Trend

Over the past few months, WCE’s western barley futures prices have been trending upward. The nearby futures price has ranged from a low of $109.90/tonne on September 28, 2000 to a recent high of $132.70/tonne on November 22, 2000.

Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Feed Wheat Futures 73.6% Higher Than One Year Earlier

Activity in feed wheat futures pit trade was substantially higher for November 2000, up 73.6% to 19,745 contracts compared to November 1999. Crop and calendar year-to-date volumes were up 84.1% and 51.5% respectively, over the same period a year ago. Open interest levels in feed wheat on November 30, 2000 were 34.9% higher than the same date in 1999.
