Trading in Paris slipped from a daily average of EUR 5.25 billion in March to EUR 4.98 billion in April. The total for April, which counted only 19 business days, was EUR 94.69 billion.

The Central Bank Of Iceland Auctions Repurchase Agreements For 32.1 Billion

The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on May 15 of the maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 10.9 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 32.1 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.

Orange replaces Liberty Surf in Next 150 as of 18 May 2001 Following the official result of the takeover bid by Tiscali SpA for the French company Liberty Surf, Liberty Surf will be deleted from the Next 150 index with effect from Friday 18 May 2001, in accordance with rule 6.3.3 of the index ground rules.

MEFF, CME, Standard & Poor's Set June 21 Launch Date for S&P Europe 350 And Sector Index Futures, Options

MEFF (the Spanish Futures and Options Exchange), Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) and Standard & Poor's today announced a June 21 launch date for stock index futures and options contracts on the S&P Europe 350 Index, along with its Financial, Information Technology and Telecom Services sector indexes. The products will be the first futures instruments that will trade on a European exchange and clear on a U.S. exchange.

Euronext Derivatives Markets - Over 27 Million Contracts Traded In April

A total of 27.548 million contracts were traded on Euronext derivatives markets in April, representing a decline of 20% from March. The total for the first four months showed a more modest 3.5% decline from the same period of 2000. In April futures plus equity and index options together accounted for 88.6% of the total.

Change In SWX Trading Hours And Trading Calendar, Effective 25 June 2001

virt-x, the first pan-European blue chip platform, will commence trading on 25 June 2001. The SMI stocks traded so far on the SWX Swiss Exchange will be traded exclusively on virt-x from that date. The SWX Management Board has therefore decided to extend trading hours to 6 pm (along the lines of virt-x) from 25 June for the following products listed and traded on SWX:
