For the week of September 30th-October 4th, 2002, the total trading volume on FORTS (Futures & Options on RTS) reached 542.3 thousand contracts or 1 727 million rubles in underlying value, compared to last week's 600.9 thousand contracts, 1 744.4 million. The number of trades executed went down from 14 370 to 13 128.

CSA/SRO Task Force To Focus On Illegal Insider Trading To Protect Canadian Investors And Market Integrity

A special CSA/SRO task force set up to examine illegal insider trading in the Canadian marketplace will focus its attention and analysis on issues surrounding leaked information in advance of major company announcements, "off-shore" accounts, and the improper use of accounts to obscure links between insiders and traders, a spokesperson for the group said today.

CME Plans Launch For GLOBEX® Eagle Project Three Weeks After OneChicago Trading Begins

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) today announced plans to launch the exchange's Eagle Project, which will permit electronic calendar spread trading on its GLOBEX® electronic trading platform, approximately three weeks after trading begins on OneChicago, LLC, the joint venture exchange for trading single stock futures. OneChicago has set a launch date of Oct. 25, and CME plans a mid-November launch of Eagle.
