Cairo And Alexandria Stock Exchanges: CASE 30 Index Putting On Additional 500 Points

CASE 30 Index broke a record level on 27/9/2005, surpassing the 5500 points for the first time since its inception to record a robust increase of 107 percent from the beginning of the year. The Index has gained 103.82 points on that day only to conclude at 5518.7 points.

When fiscal year 2006 starts on Oct. 1, 2005, the Securities and Exchange Commission may be operating under a continuing resolution. SEC Approves NYSE Composite Index® for Use As Benchmark For Trading Collars - NYA Best Reflects The Superior Performance Of The NYSE Marketplace

Beginning Oct. 3, 2005, the Rule 80A restrictions on index-arbitrage trading in NYSE listed component stocks of the S&P 500 IndexSM will be based on the NYSE Composite Index or NYA. The Securities and Exchange Commission approved amendments to the rule, which revise the basis for calculating the Rule 80A trading collars to the NYA, replacing the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
