Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For 3rd Quarter 2004

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 6,064.6 points at the end of September, an increase of 608.9 points from the closing value at the end of the second quarter. The weighted index reached 317.19 points at the end of September, an increase of 23.82 points compared to the previous quarter.

Goldman Sachs Inc. has announced the 2005 composition and weights for the Goldman Sachs Commodity Index (GSCI®) trading on Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME). The first futures contract to be affected by the change is the February 2005 contract to be listed for trading on CME on Nov. 16, 2004.

Euronext Issues Two New Licences For CAC 40® Index Trackers

On 3 September 2004, Euronext launched a request for proposal for the purpose of granting new licences for CAC 40® index trackers and has now accepted those submitted by Crédit Agricole Asset Management, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Crédit Agricole S.A., and by Harewood Asset Management, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BNP Paribas.

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) announced today that the exchange's Precious Metals complex climbed to a new volume record on Tuesday, November 2, of 8,356 contracts, which represented nearly 7 percent of all exchange-traded precious metals in the United States.
