RTS Stock Exchange Classic Market Weekly Trading Statistics

On the week of December 19th, - December 23th, 2005, RTS Index rose 2,54% and reached 1126, 09 points (1099,436 as of the December 16th closing). On Thursday, December 22th, 2005, RTS Index has established the new record as of closing – 1128.51; the new intraday record – 1139, 04 – was registered on Friday, December 23th. The Index was pushed up by "Sberbank", "Transneft" and "Norilsk Nickel" shares. The major event of the week was the approval by President Putin the bill liberalizing "Gazprom"
Revisions To The Regulations On Listing Stocks Of Domestic And Foreign Corporations On The Stock Market And The KOSDAQ Market

The Listing Regulations of the Stock Market and the KOSDAQ Market have been revised to modify the market entry and exit requirements that may restrict corporate funding activity, or that are not in conformity with international standards, and to promote internationalizatoin of the Korean stock markets by improving the listing and management regulations involving foreign stocks. The new rules will become effective on December 26, 2005.

On December 23, 2005, the Russian government has lifted the foreign ownership limit on Gazprom (Sedol 5140989). With enough demonstrated liquidity in the local market, S&P/Citigroup Global Equity Index will switch its pricing source for Gazprom to the Russian Trading System from the London Stock Exchange. Also, the IWF of Gazprom will increase from 3.42% to 49% reflecting a majority holding by the Russian Government via Rosneft. Because of the impact of this change, it will be gradually applied
