ISE Reports Monthly Volume For October 2005 - Volume Increases 43.3% - Sets New Monthly Record

The International Securities Exchange (NYSE:ISE) today reported average daily trading volumes for equity and index options contracts for October 2005. Average daily trading volume increased 43.3% to a new monthly record of 2.3 million contracts per day as compared to 1.6 million contracts per day during the same period in the prior year. Total equity and index options volume for the month increased 43.3% to a record 48.8 million contracts from 34.1 million contracts in the same year-ago period.

Eurex Turnover Climbs To 110 Million Contracts In October

Eurex, the world’s largest derivatives exchange, traded 109.8 million contracts in October, 24 percent up on last year (October 2004: 88.4 million contracts). At 1.05 billion contracts, turnover volume in the first ten months has almost surpassed last years total trading on Eurex (turnover in 2004: 1.07 billion contracts). On average, 5.2 million contracts were traded daily in October.

Equities Turnover In October 43 Percent Up Year-on-year €339 Billion In Turnover On German Stock Exchanges In October - 7.5 Million Transactions On Xetra

The German stock exchanges generated an equities turnover based on the order book statistics of €119.3 billion in October– an increase of 43 percent year-on-year (October 2004: €83.2 billion). German equities accounted for €112 billion of this total, with foreign equities comprising €7.3 billion. The order book statistics show all transactions in the order book of Xetra and broker-supported trading on the floor in single counting.

CME, the world's largest and most diverse financial exchange, today said average daily volume in October was 4.5 million contracts, up nearly 40 percent from the same period a year ago. Total monthly volume was more than 94 million contracts. Average daily volume on the CME Globex electronic trading platform averaged 3.3 million contracts, a 52 percent increase from October 2004.
