Gold And Silver Prices Fall Sharply On Profit Taking - Traded Volume On DGCX Soars To Its Highest Ever Level

DGCX today recorded its highest ever volumes since inception - surpassing the earlier record of 4521 contracts registered on April 7th 2006. A total of 4956 contracts were traded today amidst a sharp correction in the prices. The precious metal prices finally broke their winning streak as they fell sharply today on profit taking. First Index-Linked Bond Issued In Spain - AIAF To List An Indexed Debenture Pegged To The RPI

AIAF has listed a bond issue from Caixa Catalunya with interest rate link to December’s interannual variation rate of the Spanish Retail Price Index (RPI). This is the first issue of this type listed on the Spanish Corporate Debt market. The issue has a total volume of 110,000,000 euros with a unitary nominal of 100,000 euros. The disbursement took on March 21, 2006 and the maturity date is March 21, 2021.

Eurex To Introduce Weekly Options On 24 April - Weekly Options Offer New Trading Opportunities For Market Participants

Eurex, the world's largest derivatives exchange, will become the first European exchange to introduce weekly options on 24 April. Weekly options, or options with weekly instead of monthly expiration dates, will be introduced on the benchmark indexes DAX®, Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50® and SMI. Eurex weekly options will increase flexibility by providing market participants with an efficient means to trade immediately ahead of the publication of key economic data.

EEX: Open Interest Reaches Record Level - Clear Sign Of Market Participants’ Confidence In EEX

On 13 April 2006 the open interest at the European Energy Exchange (EEX) reached 207 TWh and, hence, exceeded the level of 200 TWh for the first time ever. This corresponds to an increase of 54 per cent since the beginning of the year. A financial volume of more than EUR 12.1 billion is behind this impressive mark of confidence in EEX. The open interest in the Derivatives Market for emission al-lowances also contributes to this value.

CBOT Metals Complex Beats Previous Day's Records; Exceeds 96,000 Contracts - Open Interest In CBOT Precious Metals Complex Is Up 70 Percent In April 2006

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) announced today that volume in the Exchange’s 100 percent electronically-traded Metals complex eclipsed records set on April 19, 2006 by 66 percent, as volume climbed to 96,630 contracts. The prior record was 58,137 contracts.

CBOE Volume On Friday Is Third All-Time Highest Single Day Volume - Trading Volume For The Week Tops 17.8 Million Contracts

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that reported trading volume today, Friday April 21st, was more than 4.77 million contracts, the third highest trading day ever at CBOE. Seven of CBOE's top-ten busiest volume days occurred in 2006. The top two volume days were March 16th with 5,639,339 contracts trading and January 20th, when 5,249,953 contracts traded.
