BOVESPA And FIESP Introduce INDX – Industrial Sector Index

On July 3rd, BOVESPA and the Industry Federation of São Paulo (FIESP) launched the INDX – Industrial Sector Index. This new index is the result from a partnership between FIESP and BOVESPA, and has been designed to measure the performance of the most significant stocks of the industrial sector – an important segment in the Brazilian economy.

BM&F Reduces Costs Of Dollar And Ibovespa Futures Contracts

BM&F has reduced the costs of both Ibovespa and Dollar futures contracts. For the Ibovespa contract, the exchange, registration, and permanence fees were reduced by 50%. Final settlement price of Middle East Crude Oil for June 2006 contract is 47,360 yen. On the last trading day, trading for June contract is only settled by offsetting current positions by resale or repurchase based on this final settlement price. In June, equity Trading volume on the SIBE platform came in at € 93.25 bn, 23% up on the same month last year. The outstanding balance on AIAF in June exceeded € 500 bn for the first time. In June, IBEX 35 Futures increased 40% on the year, with 569,569 contracts and Mini IBEX Futures grew by 106%, with 169,298 contracts. Trading volume in new issues on SENAF exceeded that posted in June by 85%.
