CBOT Sets All-Time Record For Daily Trading Volume As Total Tops 11 Million Contracts - Exchange’s Electronic Volume Sets Daily Record With 8.8 Million Contracts

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) today announced that it set an all-time record for trading volume Tuesday, as total Exchange volume surpassed 11 million contracts. The new CBOT volume record, 11,196,830 contracts, was 44 percent better than the previous all-time record, 7,791,833 contracts, set on November 28, 2006.

SEC Charges Former General Counsel Of McAfee, Inc. For Fraudulently Re-Pricing Option Grants

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged Kent H. Roberts, the former General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of McAfee, Inc., with securities fraud for wrongfully re-pricing McAfee stock option grants awarded to him and others in an effort to secretly increase the value of the grants. The Commission's complaint alleges that Roberts, secretly and without authorization, changed the grant date of a February 2000 grant made to him in order to take advantage of McAfee's then-declining

CME Sets New Total Daily Volume Record Of 13.7 Million Contracts - Electronic Trading, Equity Index Contracts And Electronic Eurodollar Futures Also Hit Record Highs

CME, the world's largest and most diverse financial exchange, announced multiple volume records were reached at the exchange yesterday, including total daily volume of 13,719,685 futures and options traded*, of which a record 10,926,638 contracts were traded electronically on CME Globex,(R) representing 80 percent of the total volume.

System Problem Caused Lag In Timely Calculation Of Dow Jones Industrial Average For 70 Minutes Yesterday - Normal Operation Expected Today

Dow Jones Indexes today explained that a system problem beginning at 1:50 pm yesterday amid unusually heavy volume caused the 70-minute lag in correctly calculating the value of the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) and the subsequent downward spike in the reported index value when the problem was corrected at 3:00 pm.

ISE Announces Record Daily Trading Volume

The International Securities Exchange (NYSE:ISE) announced that it set a new record daily trading volume of 5,531,875 equity and index options contracts on Tuesday, February 27, 2007. ISE is pleased to report that its highly reliable and scalable trading platform effectively handled almost one million more contracts than the previous record of 4,580,678 contracts, set on January 20, 2006.
