The international derivatives exchange Eurex successfully launched over the last week major system enhancements. As of 3 December, the exchange introduced a new Eurex market data feed – the Enhanced Broadcast Solution (EBS). Eurex also launched its system Release 10 at the end of November.

NASSCOM the premier trade body and the “voice” of the Indian IT industry, today announced the formal MoU signing with Securities & Investment Institute (SII). The partnership will be launched at an industry gathering in Mumbai on 4th December, 2007 and will come into play beginning January 2008. The MoU aims to support, promote and further develop SII qualifications to the Indian IT-BPO industry, in particular to NASSCOM members in India and globally.

virt-x Exchange Limited and NYFIX, Inc. (Pink Sheets: NYFX) announced today the signing of an agreement to jointly deliver a non-displayed block trading service for Swiss Blue Chip Equities. The service will be owned and operated by virt-x and powered by NYFIX Euro Millennium, the neutral multi lateral trading facility (MTF) to be launched early next year by NYFIX International Limited, NYFIX’s UK-based subsidiary.

Seadrill Not Successful In Its Legal Proceedings Against Oslo Børs

On the afternoon of Monday 3 December, the Oslo District Court issued its ruling on the annulment action brought by Seadrill Limited against Oslo Børs in connection with the decision of the Stock Exchange Appeals Committee in respect of Seadrill’s duty to make a mandatory offer for Eastern Drilling ASA. Seadrill’s claim that the Committee’s decision was invalid did not succeed.

LCH.Clearnet Freight Cleared Volumes Set More New Records

LCH.Clearnet is pleased to announce another record month for cleared volumes in its OTC Freight Forward Agreement (FFA) clearing service. Total cleared volumes soared to over 100,000 lots in November, a rise of almost 20% over volumes seen in October, which itself doubled the previous record performance in September. Furthermore, total open interest rose by over a third to 146,000 lots.
