Open interest on Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) rose to a new high of 14,533,564 positions on Friday, August 17. The new record surpasses one set Wednesday, August 15, at 14.442,623 positions.

The American Stock Exchange Launches New iShares Based On MSCI EAFE Index Fund
The American Stock Exchange® (Amex® ), the leader and pioneer of exchange traded funds (ETFs), in conjunction with Barclays Global Investors, N.A., the largest manager of indexed products in the world, today announced trading in a new iShares based on the MSCI EAFE Index Fund. The new iShares will trade under the ticker symbol EFA.

NYBOT Announces First "Exchange For Swaps" Transaction
The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT®) announced today that its first "Exchange For Swaps" (EFS) transaction occurred Wednesday, August 15th, 2001, in its sugar market. The EFS trade involved more than 650 lots of the Sugar No. 11 October 2001 futures contracts and was brokered by Cargill Investor Services.

Ljubljana Stock Exchange Monthly Statistical Report July 2001
Turnover In July 2001 the total turnover on all market segments of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange amounted to SIT 30.81 billion, which was 3% less than the month before and over SIT 13 billion or 75% above the July 2000 figure. In the first seven months of this year the total turnover on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange reached SIT 176.30 billion, which was 23% or almost SIT 33 billion more than a year before.
