Commencement Of Same Day Trading In Cairo & Alexandria Stock Exchanges
The same day trading system (Intraday trading) commenced on Thursday 20/10/2005 trading session as a tool to enhance market liquidity. According to this system, the volume of daily transactions made by one investor should not exceed 1/10,000 of the company's listed securities.

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that 2005 trading volume at CBOE has already surpassed 2004's record annual volume. Through Friday, October 21, CBOE's year-to-date volume stood at 372,002,569 contracts traded, eclipsing last year's all-time record annual volume of 361,086,774 contracts traded. Cairo & Alexandria Stock Exchanges Implemented Same Day Trading
Within the framework of Cairo & Alexandria Stock Exchanges (CASE) current plan to increase market depth and liquidity, the Exchange has formulated new rules to arrange the Same Day Trading activities. In that respect, the Egyptian Capital Market Authority (CMA) issued Decree No. 24 that introduced the “Same Day Trading” concept for the first time to the Egyptian market, which came into force on October 20th, 2005.

Archipelago Announces Third Quarter 2005 Results
Archipelago Holdings, Inc. (PCX: AX), owner and operator of the Archipelago Exchange(R) (ArcaEx(R)), the nation's first totally open, all-electronic stock exchange, reported net income of $7.8 million, or $0.16 per diluted share, for the third quarter of 2005, up from the $3.0 million net income, or $0.06 per diluted share, recorded in the second quarter of 2005.
