NYSE Regulation, Inc. announced today it has censured and fined J.J.B. Hilliard, W.L. Lyons, Inc. (“Hilliard Lyons”), a member firm, $1 million in connection with the sale of unregistered securities through a private placement that did not qualify for exemption under the federal securities laws.

Instinet Receives IDA Approval For ICX(SM)

Instinet I-X(SM) Limited, a subsidiary of global agency broker Instinet, today announced that it has received membership in the Investment Dealers Association of Canada. Instinet I-X Limited will operate ICX(SM), a high-performance, fully anonymous and low-cost continuous alternative trading system (ATS) for equities listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The new platform, in which Instinet intends to offer equity stakes to strategic liquidity partners, will begin operation in Q4 of this year.

HKEx: CBBC Listing Fee Reduction

CESR Publishes A Survey On The Direct Communication Of Auditors With The Public On The Statutory Audit Of The Annual Or Consolidated Accounts Of Listed Companies

As the committee of European securities regulators, CESR-Fin has a strong interest in the quality of the audit of listed companies. A CESR-Fin Project Group was mandated by CESR-Fin to monitor the current work undertaken in the area of auditing. The subject of the survey is the direct communication of auditors with the public, in particular shareholders and potential investors, on their statutory audit of the annual or consolidated accounts of listed companies.
