Executive Vice President Of Transaction Services To Depart NASDAQ OMX

The NASDAQ OMX Group (Nasdaq:NDAQ) today announced that Chris Concannon, Executive Vice President, Transaction Services U.S., has advised the company that he intends to step down from his role effective April 30. Mr. Concannon will be joining Virtu Financial LLC, a newly formed proprietary trading firm, as a Partner.

FORTS Trading Volume Exceeds 2.4 Million Contracts

April 14, 2009 saw a number of records on FORTS, RTS derivatives section. By the end of the main trading session the trading volume in futures contracts on FORTS hit a record high of 2,404,545 contracts. The previous record was set on March 19, 2009 with the trading volume in futures totaling 2,063,915 contracts.

Chi-X Europe Issues Q1 2009 Trading Statistics

Chi-X Europe offers trading in the component stocks of 18 indices across 13 major European markets – a universe of over 900 stocks – as well as ETFs. In the last quarter, Chi-X Europe added the SBF 120 (French mid-cap) to its growing list of available indices and expanded coverage in the Spanish market to include all of the IBEX 35 component stocks.

Autorité Des Marchés Financiers And Emirates Securities And Commodities Authority Sign MoU To Cooperate On Regulation And Technical Assistance

Al-Turifi, Chief Executive of the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) of the United Arab Emirates, and Jean-Pierre Jouyet, Chairman of the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), signed on 7 April 2009 a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the cooperation and exchange of information, with a view to forging closer links between the authorities and financial centres of both countries.
