STOXX Limited, the leading provider of European equity indexes, today announced that the Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50 Short Index and the Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50 Leveraged Index have been licensed to Commerzbank AG. The indexes will serve as underlying for exchange-traded funds (ETFs) which start trading on XETRA today.

The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) today published an Economic Note, which called for the GCC Common Currency that will be created by the GCC Monetary Union to be pegged to a basket of global currencies comprising of the US dollar, the Euro, the Japanese yen and the British pound.
SGX: Revised Error Trade Policy For Securities Market To Take Effect On 2 January 2009

Investigation Of Eastern Property Holdings Limited By SIX Swiss Exchange Ltd

SIX Swiss Exchange Ltd has initiated an investigation against Eastern Property Holdings Limited (Tortola, British Virgin Islands) on the grounds of a possible breach of certain provisions of the Listing Rules, as well as the Directive on Ad-Hoc Publicity. The investigation has been prompted by an alleged breach of ad-hoc disclosure regulations in connection with the announcement of first-half 2008 figures during trading hours, as well as an alleged failure to fulfil reporting obligations.

Tokyo Stock Exchange Set Up A Market Office

The Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) has newly set up a Market Office this December. The new office is designed to improve the TSE's system for sales and marketing. The office will have a structure that is easily recognizable to outside parties in terms of presenting the TSE products and services. It will also promote user-oriented marketing activities in a cross-sectional manner.
