With Euroclear Bank’s recent move to expand its operational capabilities in Hong Kong and the growing appetite for crossborder securities financing using Asian securities as collateral, Euroclear Bank is easing liquidity challenges in the global capital markets.

Management Transactions: SWX Swiss Exchange Ltd Opens Investigation Against Lonza Group AG

The SWX Swiss Exchange Ltd has instituted an investigation against Lonza Group AG on the grounds of a possible breach of Art. 74a of the Listing Rules (disclosure of management transactions). Investigatory proceedings will continue for an indefinite period. The SWX will announce its findings, although no information will be provided while the proceedings are ongoing.

CalPERS Recovers $30 Million From Former UnitedHealth Group CEO

The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) announced today that it has entered into a proposed settlement of its class action lawsuit with the former Chief Executive Officer of UnitedHealth Group (UNH) William McGuire. McGuire has agreed to pay $30 million to UNH shareowners and to cancel options to purchase 3.675 million shares of stock to settle CalPERS’ claims.
