SEC Staff Extends Sarbanes-Oxley Survey To January 31

The Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of Economic Analysis (OEA) has extended the deadline to January 31 for public companies’ participation in a Web-based survey about the costs and benefits of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.

SGX-SIAS-MoneySENSE Seminars To Help Investors Make Informed Investment Decisions

The Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) is a European leader amongst bourses in terms of the highest number of new companies that were admitted to stock exchange trade in Q4 2008 – shows IPO Watch Europe report drawn up by PricewaterhouseCoopers. In IPO value terms the Warsaw bourse was a runner up, just after London Stock Exchange (LSE). In the overall 2008 WSE was a runner up in the entire Europe both in IPO volume and value terms.

Singapore Exchange: Industry-Wide Testing Of Extended Settlement Contracts Completed, Launch Rescheduled To 20 February 2009

Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) announced today that it has successfully completed industry-wide testing of Extended Settlement (ES) contracts, and rescheduled the launch of the product from 23 January 2009 to 20 February 20091. The Exchange and its Members will focus on training and investor education for another month until its launch.

SEC Charges CRE Capital Corporation And James G. Ossie With Conducting Multi-Million Dollar Ponzi Scheme

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged Atlanta-area firm CRE Capital Corporation and its president James G. Ossie with operating a Ponzi scheme. The SEC has obtained an emergency court order freezing their assets and appointing a receiver for CRE.
