Albert Moser, General Representative and Director Clearing & Settlement of European Commodity Clearing AG (ECC), will assume the chair at the Institute of Power Systems and Power Economics at the Rhenish- Westphalian Technical University Aachen (RWTH Aachen) with effect from 1st March 2009. He will succeed Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Jürgen Haubrich.

Japanese GAAPs Are Found To Be Equivalent To IFRS By The European Commission

On December 12, 2008, it was announced by the European Commission (EC) that the Japanese GAAPs (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) were found to be equivalent to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as adopted by the European Union (EU). The decision enables Japanese companies listed on EU markets to continue to file their financial statements prepared in accordance with the Japanese GAAPs.
