UK's Treasury: Changes To Credit Guarantee Scheme

The UK Government is today announcing proposals for changes to the Credit Guarantee Scheme. These changes are designed to enhance the effectiveness of the Scheme in supporting stability in the financial sector and maximise its impact on wider economic stability through supporting lending to the economy. They draw on experience gathered over recent weeks of operating the scheme and follow discussions with participating banks.

New Petroleum Product Swap Futures Contracts To Launch At CME Group An ClearPort

CME Group, the world's largest and most diverse derivatives exchange, today announced 20 new petroleum product swaps futures contracts, including a Brent CFD contract, European premium gasoline contracts, fuel oil contracts, Asian propane contracts, and balance-of-month (BALMO) futures contracts on ClearPort(R), beginning on December 21 for trade date December 22.

New Average Price Options Contracts To Launch At CME Group On ClearPort And New York Trading Floor

CME Group, the world's largest and most diverse derivatives exchange, today announced that average price options on the Singapore fuel oil 180 cst swap (C5), Singapore gasoil calendar swap (M2), Singapore jet kerosene swap (N2), and the fuel oil 3.5% Rotterdam barges swap (Q6) contracts will be listed for trading. These four average price options contracts will be listed on the NYMEX trading floor and ClearPort(R), beginning December 21 for trade date December 22.

On Friday, December 12, 2008, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC or Commission) issued an Order permitting ICE Clear U.S., Inc. (ICE Clear) to clear certain bilateral over-the-counter (OTC) swap transactions involving coffee, sugar, or cocoa. This is the first time that the Commission has issued an order permitting the clearing of any type of agricultural swap contracts.
