Herbert M. Allison, Jr. Confirmed As Assistant Secretary For Financial Stability

Herbert M. Allison, Jr. was confirmed by the United States Senate today to serve as the Department of the Treasury's Assistant Secretary for Financial Stability. As Assistant Secretary for Financial Stability, Allison is responsible for developing and coordinating Treasury's policies on legislative and regulatory issues affecting financial stability, including overseeing the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). Allison is also Counselor to the Secretary.

The Government has been reliably informed that the US Securities Exchange Commission has today Friday June 19 2009 filed in the Northern District Court of Texas a Motion for Leave to file an Amended Complaint in its pending civil suit against Stanford International Bank Limited (SIB), Stanford Group Company, and R Allen Stanford among others. The civil suit was filed by the SEC in February 2009.
