Eurex Names New Manager For Offices In The U.S. - Vassilis Vergotis Takes Over Responsibility From Heike Eckert - Eckert To Assume New Eurex Leadership Role In Frankfurt, Germany

The international derivatives exchange Eurex announced today the appointment of a new Executive Vice President for the Eurex offices in the United States. As of 1 September 2009, Vassilis Vergotis (39) will succeed Heike Eckert (40) as manager of the Eurex offices in Chicago and New York. In his new assignment, Mr. Vergotis will be responsible for relationship management with existing members and the acquisition of new customers as well as Eurex’s business development in the Americas.

TRADING VOLUMES: ECX volumes remained healthy despite the large numbers of traders on holiday during a quiet August. A total of 283,400 contracts traded during the month, a 36% year-on-year increase. Year-to-date Average Daily Volume remains above 20 Mt. Daily Futures volumes and ECX spot market share continue to increase.
