The Major Trading Session On RTS To Be Extended Until 6:45 PM MSK

As of August 28, 2009 the major trading session on all RTS markets (RTS Classica, RTS Standard, FORTS) will be extended until 6:45 pm MSK. This resolution has been passed by the RTS Board based on the recommendation issued by the Trading Committee and the Derivatives Market Committee of RTS.

UK's Financial Services Authority Provides Clarity For Activist Shareholders

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has set out how its rules apply to activist shareholders who wish to work together to promote effective corporate governance in companies in which they have invested. The FSA said in a letter sent to trade associations that its requirements do not prevent legitimate activity of this nature.

Panama Stock Exchange (BVP) recorded transactions amounting to U.S. $ 10.5 million between 10 and August 14. Securities trade and bonds were the most negotiated instruments. The values placed were U.S. $ 8.6 million, of which the Banco Internacional de Costa Rica traded $ 3.4 million, La Ipotecaria placed U.S. $ 2.7 million and the Finanzas Y Creditos del Hogar (House Finance and Appropriations) U.S. $ 1.5 million.

Tokyo Grain Exchange: Daily Price Limits From August 19, 2009

The daily price limits will change from August 19, 2009. Soybeans will be reverted to 1,800yen. Non-GMO Soybeans will be reverted to 1,800yen. Raw sugar will be reverted to 1,000yen.
