London Stock Exchange Upgrades TradElect - Speed, Capacity And Functionality Improved For MiFID
The London Stock Exchange today announced the completion of a significant upgrade to TradElect, its recently launched electronic trading platform, as volume growth continues. Release 2.0, as the upgrade is called, has improved processing speed by 40 per cent, system capacity by 70 per cent and has added functionality that allows the Exchange to offer market users a full suite of MiFID compliant solutions.

HKEx To Start Closing Auction Session On 26 May 2008
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) announced today (Wednesday) a closing auction session for its securities market will commence on 26 May 2008. The target date takes into consideration system preparations by Exchange Participants and the scheduled introduction of five-digit stock codes in April 2008.

Malaysia's KLSI, Second Board And MESDAQ Indices Retire And Replaced By FTSE Bursa Malaysia Indices
Bursa Malaysia will retire the Kuala Lumpur Syariah Index (KLSI), Second Board and MESDAQ indices which will be replaced with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia EMAS Shariah, FTSE Bursa Malaysia Second Board and FTSE Bursa Malaysia MESDAQ Index respectively on 1 November 2007. The retirement of the KLSI will see the FTSE Bursa Malaysia EMAS Shariah Index become the primary index for Malaysian Shariah-compliant investments.

Trading Volume On FORTS Hits 2,7 Billion Dollars
On October 30, 2007 on the Futures and Options on RTS market (FORTS) a new record in trading volume was registered. By the trading results of the day, the trading volume made up 67,36 billion rubles, which exceeds 2,7 billion dollars. The previous record trading volume was registered on October 18, 2007 and made up 61,56 billion rubles.

FINRA Fines Oppenheimer $1 Million To Settle Charges That It Produced Flawed, Incomplete And Untimely Data In Breakpoint Self-Assessment - Submission Of Data The Firm Knew To Be Flawed Among Key Findings
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) announced today that it has fined Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. $1 million for submitting mutual fund breakpoint data to FINRA that the firm knew to be inaccurate, as well as for related supervisory deficiencies. FINRA also ordered the firm to engage an independent consultant to evaluate its policies, systems and procedures for responding to information requests from regulators.

CFTC Releases Rule Enforcement Review Of The Chicago Board Of Trade
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (Commission) has notified the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT or Exchange) of the results of a rule enforcement review completed by the Commission’s Division of Market Oversight (Division). The Division assessed CBOT’s compliance with the core principles that relate to market surveillance. The target period for the review was October 1, 2005 to September 30, 2006.
