Five New Db X-Trackers ETFs Launched On Xetra - First ETF In FTSE 100 Short Index Listed In XTF Segment - Range Of Shariah-Compliant ETFs Expanded
Deutsche Börse is further expanding its XTF segment for exchange-traded index funds (ETFs) on the pan-European Xetra trading platform and has admitted five new ETFs issued by db-x-trackers to trading.

SII’s Senior Adviser Qualifications Show Sustained And Growing Demand
The Securities & Investment Institute (SII) announced that 585 candidates sat the units of its prestigious Diploma and SII Masters examinations, of which 396 passed. The overall pass rate was 68%. The numbers taking these examinations increased by 8% on those taking the examinations last summer.

Eurex Admits First Local Broker From Singapore - UOB Bullion And Futures Limited Has Been Connected Since Mid August
The international derivatives exchange Eurex announced today that it admitted the first local broker from the Republic of Singapore. UOB Bullion and Futures Limited, a subsidiary of Singapore-based United Overseas Bank Limited, was connected on 18 August 2008 to the Singapore Access Point of Eurex.

SGX: Prolonged Suspension Not In Interest Of Shareholders And Market
SGX sets out its position on why further extensions may not be granted to long-suspended companies. A company should keep its suspension to the shortest period possible in the interests of shareholders. The longer a suspension, the more challenging it can be for the company to acquire suitable assets as viable alternatives would have been exhausted.

CME Group Announces Final Shareholder Election Results And Proration Factor In Connection With NYMEX Holdings Merger
CME Group (Nasdaq: CME) today announced the final results of the elections received in connection with its merger with NYMEX Holdings. As specified in the Merger Agreement, NYMEX Holdings shareholders were entitled to elect to receive consideration consisting of cash or shares of CME Group Class A common stock for each share outstanding at the effective time of the merger. Elections were subject to proration in order to distribute the mandatory cash consideration of approximately $3.4 billion. T

SEC Proposes Roadmap Toward Global Accounting Standards to Help Investors Compare Financial Information More Easily
The Securities and Exchange Commission today voted to publish for public comment a proposed Roadmap that could lead to the use of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) by U.S. issuers beginning in 2014. Currently, U.S. issuers use U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP). C-Com Nickel Futures Contract To Be Delisted
The current trial period for the Nickel futures contract expires on September 1, 2008 and C-Com has made a decision for not applying for another extension due to the current and past poor trading environment of the Japanese futures industry, which led the Exchange to believe that there was little hope for a recovery in the future, despite vigorous efforts in promoting the market made by the Exchange.
