Bond Exchange Of South Africa Shareholders Approve Proposed Scheme Of Arrangement By JSE
Shareholders of the Bond Exchange of South Africa Limited (BESA) have voted in favour of the proposed scheme of arrangement put forward by the JSE Limited (JSE) on 10 December 2008 to acquire 100% ownership in BESA. The proposed merger of the respective exchanges was ratified at a shareholder scheme meeting this morning, with 100% of shareholders voting, confirming their support for the transaction at R125 per BESA share (over 75% is required).

Transfer Of French Power Futures To Leipzig Scheduled For April 2009 - EEX Power Derivatives To Assume Central Position In Derivatives Power Trading In Continental Europe
The implementation of the cooperation between European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) and Powernext SA in power trading is approaching its aim. As of 1st April, Powernext Power Futures will be transferred to EEX Power Derivatives with registered offices in Leipzig.

Dalian Commodity Exchange Market Share Rose To 46.80% In 2008
Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) held Conference On Summary and Commendation 2008 recently, on which Mr. Liu Xingqiang, the President and CEO told that DCE had witnessed an annual transaction of 638 million contracts with a turnover of 27.49 trillion yuan, an increase of 71.95% and 130.49% year-on-year respectively, which accounted for 46.80% and 38.22% of the national market. Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In S&P/TSX Canadian Indices
Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index changes: The relative weight of Kinross Gold Corporation (TSX:K) will increase in the S&P/TSX Composite and Capped Composite, the S&P/TSX Equity and Capped Equity, the S&P/TSX 60, 60 Capped and Equity 60, the S&P/TSX Capped Materials and the S&P/TSX Global Gold indices after the close of trading on Friday, February 6, 2009, to reflect the issuance of new shares via a prospectus offering.

New York Attorney General Cuomo Announces The Release Of An Assurance Of Discontinuance In Auction Rate Securities Settlement With Wachovia - Auction Rate Securities Probe Has Resulted In Over $61 Billion In Buy-Back Obligations-Creating Largest Consumer
Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo today announced an Assurance of Discontinue with Wachovia Securities, LLC and Wachovia Capital Markets, LLC (collectively, “Wachovia“”) relating to the auction rate securities settlement reached late last summer. The Assurance details how liquidity will be provided to consumers who purchased auction-rate securities. The Assurance of Discontinuance is the next step in the agreement reached in August with Wachovia.

Robert Malhotra Named Senior Advisor In SEC Office Of The Chief Accountant
The Securities and Exchange Commission announced today that Robert B. Malhotra has been named to serve in the SEC's Office of the Chief Accountant (OCA) as a senior advisor. In this capacity, Mr. Malhotra will advise the senior officers in OCA on complex accounting and auditing matters, and will assist in the development of strategic objectives that need to be pursued to support the Commission's agenda.

CFTC Charges Minnesota Resident Charles “Chuck” E. Hays And His Company, Crossfire Trading, LLC, With Running A $5.5 Million Ponzi Scheme
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) filed an enforcement action today against Charles “Chuck” E. Hays and Crossfire Trading, LLC (Crossfire), both of Rosemount, Minnesota, charging them with fraud and misappropriation in connection with a commodity pool Ponzi scheme.

SEC Finalizes ARS Settlement To Provide $7 Billion in Liquidity To Wachovia Investors
The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced a settlement with Wachovia Securities, LLC that will provide more than $7 billion in liquidity to thousands of customers who invested in auction rate securities (ARS) before the market for those securities collapsed.

NSX Releases January 2009 ETF/ETN Data Report
National Stock Exchange, Inc.(NSX®) today announced that net cash inflows into U.S. listed Exchange-Traded Funds (ETF) and Exchange-Traded Notes (ETN) totaled $2.1 billion for January 2009, an increase of approximately 74% over $1.2 billion posted during January 2008. At the end of January 2009, the number of listed products totaled a record 861, compared to 678 listed products one year ago.
