ELX Sets New End-Of-Day Total Market Share Record In U.S. Treasury Futures

ELX Futures, L.P. (ELX), a leading electronic futures exchange, announced today that it has established a new end-of-day (3 p.m. EST) trading record for total market share in its U.S. Treasury futures contracts, with an electronic share at 5% on January 10, 2011.

The participation of institutional investors in the total volume of Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on the Exchange reached 50% in December. The participation of financial institutions was at 17.8% and of foreign investors 15.7%. Individual investors had a 14.9% market share of total market volume. Public and private sector companies had 1.5%.

Galleon insider trading case, including a New York hedge fund advisory firm, its hedge fund manager, an analyst at the hedge fund, a senior corporate executive in the technology sector, and an investor relations firm employee.

Bursa Malaysia Retains Position As Top Sukuk Listing Destination

The recovery in the global economy has encouraged a rebound in the sukuk market. 2010 has been a good year with total global issuance reaching USD30bn representing an increase of approximately 20% from the previous year and a two-fold increase from the lows of USD15bn in 2008. Of that amount, some USD8.6bn sukuk programme was listed on Bursa Malaysia, accounting for almost one-third of total global issue.
