The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today filed and simultaneously settled charges that Roy Scarboro, Jr. of Archdale, N.C., fraudulently solicited approximately $713,000 from customers to trade off-exchange foreign currency (forex). The CFTC order also finds that Scarboro misappropriated funds for his personal use and issued false account statements to conceal that he lost most of the funds trading. Scarboro has never been registered with the CFTC.

CBOE Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBOE) today reported that August trading volume for options on theChicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and C2 Options Exchange (C2), the company's alternative all-electronic market, combined, established an all-time record of 151.2 million contracts; record average daily volume (ADV) was nearly 6.6 million contracts, up 88 percent from August 2010 and an increase of 44 percent from July 2011. CBOE, CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE) and C2 each posted all-time record monthly volumes and ADV in August.

MGEX Reaches Two Million Trade Mark In Fiscal Year 2010-2011

MGEX, a Designated Contract Market and Derivatives Clearing Organization, today announced a new fiscal year (FY) futures and options trading record of 2,013,025 contracts. The new milestone shattered the previous record by more than 328,000 contracts. Futures trading of the MGEX Hard Red Spring Wheat (HRSW) contract also set a new fiscal record of 1,968,967 contracts traded. Both new records unseated the previous records set in FY 2007-2008. The MGEX fiscal year is defined as September 1 to August 31 of the following year.

BATS Global Markets (BATS), a global operator of stock and options markets, today reported its best month ever with U.S. Equities matched market share of 12.3%, up from 10.6% one year ago. BATS Options and BATS Europe also recorded solid performances in August, reporting 4.2% and 5.4% matched market share, respectively.
