Singapore Exchange (“SGX”) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (“SASAC”) of the Chongqing Municipal Government in China. This is SGX’s first MOU with a provincial SASAC.

Moving beyond the negative impact of the markets during 2008 and 2009, there is ample evidence that the US equity hedge fund industry and sell-side brokers serving those funds are in the initial stages of a comeback. Head traders at hedge funds expect their trading volumes to increase in 2010 as asset bases are rebuilt and leverage increases. As a result, TABB Group estimates that hedge fund equity commission revenue is expected to grow by 9% in 2010, rising to $4 billion.

(ELX Futures), a fully electronic futures exchange, announced today that it has released its simplified two-tier fee schedule, including exchange and clearing fees, at lower prices than most available fees. ELX will launch its Eurodollar Futures contract on Friday, June 18, 2010, and fees will be waived for market participants until July 1, 2010. The Eurodollar Futures contract will join ELX’s suite of U.S. Treasury Futures products already trading.
