On October 30, SZSE and Changzhou Municipal People’s Government held the 10th “Chuangxianghui” special event with the theme of power battery and new energy vehicle manufacturing industries. The guests present included the relevant persons in charge of leading listed companies in the new energy industry such as ENERGY TECHNOLOGY, GEM, INOVANCE, EASPRING, Dynanonic and SUNWODA, experts from venture capital institutions such as Changzhou Investment Group and IOPLY, the head of the investment banking department of China Securities, and the chief of power equipment and new energy of the Institute. They talked about how the capital market serves the high-quality development of the new energy industry.

The Justice Department issued the following statement from Attorney General Merrick B. Garland on today’s jury conviction in the trial of Sam Bankman-Fried:
“Sam Bankman-Fried thought that he was above the law. Today’s verdict proves he was wrong. This case should send a clear message to anyone who tries to hide their crimes behind a shiny new thing they claim no one else is smart enough to understand: the Justice Department will hold you accountable. I am grateful to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and the FBI for their outstanding work in bringing Mr. Bankman-Fried to justice.”

FTX Founder Sam Bankman-Fried Found Guilty Of Massive FTX Fraud

Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, has been convicted of orchestrating a multi-billion dollar fraud that rocked the financial world. After a month-long trial, a 12-member jury unanimously found Bankman-Fried guilty on all seven counts, confirming his fall from grace as a former billionaire. Prosecutors successfully argued that he selfishly stole $8 billion from FTX users, leaving the exchange bankrupt and wiping out his once massive fortune of $26 billion.

Ontario Securities Commission Seeks Approval Of Settlement With RBC For Alleged Books And Records Failures

The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) today filed a Statement of Allegations against Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) for failing to properly record the costs associated with internally developed software projects. A public hearing before the Capital Markets Tribunal will occur on November 3, 2023 at 8:00 AM to approve a settlement agreement regarding the allegations.

Agreement Reached Between The Autorité des marchés Financiers And The Royal Bank Of Canada

On November 1, 2023, the Autorité des marchés financiers (“AMF”) reached an agreement with the Royal Bank of Canada (“RBC”) following a joint investigation carried out by the AMF and the Ontario Securities Commission (“OSC”), which was conducted in parallel with an investigation carried out by the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) of the United States. RBC has also reached agreements with the OSC and the SEC. All three agreements arise out of the same conduct.

US Office Of The Comptroller Of The Currency Releases CRA Evaluations For 24 National Banks And Federal Savings Associations

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) today released a list of Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) performance evaluations that became public during the period of October 1, 2023, through October 31, 2023. The list contains only national banks, federal savings associations, and insured federal branches of foreign banks that have received ratings. The possible ratings are outstanding, satisfactory, needs to improve, and substantial noncompliance.
