Fitch Comments Further On Downgrade Of Cyprus To 'BBB-' - Outlook Negative

Fitch Ratings is providing further comment on the rating actions it took earlier today on the Republic of Cyprus (Cyprus), where its Long-term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) was downgraded to 'BBB-' from 'BBB', Negative Outlook, and its Short-term IDR was affirmed at 'F3'.

Canadian Securities Regulators Adopt Regulatory Regime For Credit Rating Organizations

The Canadian Securities Administrators announced today the adoption of NI 25-101 Designated Rating Organizations, which will impose requirements on credit rating organizations wishing to have their credit ratings eligible for use in securities legislation.

Fitch Ratings is providing further comment on the rating actions it took earlier today on the Kingdom of Spain (Spain), where its long-term issuer default rating (IDR) was downgraded to 'A' from 'AA-'; Negative Outlook; and its short-term IDR was downgraded to 'F1' from 'F1+'.

UK Government Publishes Financial Services Bill

The Government has today published legislation which will fundamentally transform and strengthen financial regulation in the United Kingdom, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, Mark Hoban, has announced. The new regime sets out a clear, coherent and comprehensive regulatory framework, replacing the uncertainty and inadequacy of the previous structure, and helping to mitigate against future risks to stability.
