The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) announces six Thai listed companies are among “Asia’s 200 Best Under a Billion” this year, ranked by Forbes Asia magazine, reflecting the efficient improvement of Thai small- and medium-sized businesses, which have been able to generate upbeat performances despite crises.

The value of ASX-listed stocks, as measured by the All Ordinaries Index, rose 3.7% in July 2012. This performance was below rises in other major markets, including Germany up 5.5%, Singapore up 5.5%, and stronger than Hong Kong up1.8%, the US up 1.3%, the UK up 1.2% and Japan down 3.5%.

Shenzhen Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Securities Information Co., Ltd. jointly declared on August 6, 2012 to issue two thematic indices: SZSE Consumer 50 Index (Code: 399646, Abbreviation: SZSE Consumer 50) and SZSE Health Care 50 Index (Code: 399647, Abbreviation: SZSE Health Care 50). Both indices take December 31, 2004 as the base date, and 1000 points as base point.

Dubai Financial Market (DFM) has successfully concluded its Summer Training Program 2012. In total, 18 UAE students participated in the program throughout the month of July, working an average of 6 hours per day from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm. The program covered various aspects of practical training on key areas of the financial markets and represented a major challenge for the participants, especially with the newly introduced courses: ‘The FutureBroker’, ‘The Future Technician’ and ‘The Future Researcher’.

Dalian Commodity Exchange: Notice On Adjustment To Minimum Margin And Limit Range Of Soybean Meal Futures

In accordance with the regulations of the “Measures for Risk Management of Dalian Commodity Exchange”, after conducting related research, DCE decided to change the range of limit up and down for soybean meal futures from 4% to 5%, and the minimum trading margin standard from 5% to 7% as of Monday on August 6, 2012.

Monetary Authority Of Singapore Implements Enhanced Regulatory Regime For Fund Management Companies

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has announced that the implementation of an enhanced regulatory regime for fund management companies (FMCs) will take effect from tomorrow, 7 August 2012. Amendments have been made to the Securities and Futures (Licensing and Conduct of Business) Regulations, Securities and Futures (Financial and Margin Requirements) Regulations and Financial Advisers Regulations.

Japan's Securities And Exchange Surveillance Commission: Recommendation For Administrative Action Based On Findings Of The Inspection Of Nomura Securities Co., Ltd.

1. Contents of the recommendation
Pursuant to Article 20, paragraph (1) of the Act for the Establishment of the Financial Services Agency (FSA), on July 31, 2012, the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC) issued a recommendation that the Prime Minister and the Commissioner of the FSA shall take administrative action against Nomura Securities Co., Ltd* (hereinafter referred to as the "Company"). This recommendation is based on the findings of the inspection of the Company, whereby the following violations of laws and regulations by the Company were identified.
