CFTC Obtains Default Judgment Against Lincolnshire Trading Partners, LLC And Scott Geisinger For Violating CFTC Registration Requirements - Defendants Each Ordered To Pay A $140,000 Civil Monetary Penalty And Are Permanently Barred From Any Commodity-Related Activities

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that Judge Percy Anderson of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California entered a default judgment and permanent injunction order against defendants Lincolnshire Trading Partners, LLC(Lincolnshire) and its president, Scott Geisinger, both of Pomona, Calif. The order requires Lincolnshire and Geisinger to each pay a $140,000 civil monetary penalty, imposes permanent trading and registration bans against them, and prohibits them from violating the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA) and CFTC regulations, as charged.

OCC And Federal Reserve Reach Agreement With HSBC To Provide $249 Million In Payments And Assistance

HSBC has joined the agreement in principle announced by the Federal Reserve Board and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) on January 7, 2013, and will pay $249 million in cash payments and other assistance to help mortgage borrowers.

CFTC Extending Review Period On A Request From The Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. To Adopt New Chapter 10 (“Regulatory Reporting Of Swap Data”) And New Rule 1001 (“Regulatory Reporting Of Swap Data”) Of CME’s Rulebook

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (Commission) is extending the time period for which it is reviewing a request from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) for approval of a rule (Rule 1001) submitted pursuant to section 40.5 of the Commission’s regulations. The proposed rule raises novel or complex issues that the Commission has determined require additional time to review. The review period is being extended 45 days to expire on March 6, 2013.
