ETFGI: Global ETF And ETP Assets Reached US$2.16 Trillion, A New Record High, At The End Of July 2013

According to preliminary figures from ETFGI’s Global ETF and ETP industry insights report, near record net inflows of US$44.08 billion and strong market performance helped to push global ETF and ETP assets to US$2.16 trillion at the end of July 2013. There are now 4,883 ETFs/ETPs, with 9,925 listings, from 209 providers listed on 57 exchanges.

Warsaw Stock Exchange Introduces New Multiplier For WIG20 Futures

• WSE plans to commence trading in futures with the new multiplier in September this year
• At a later date, WIG20 futures will be replaced by WIG30 futures

ASX Group Monthly Activity Report – July 2013

The value of ASX-listed stocks, as measured by the All Ordinaries Index, rose 5.5% in July 2013. This performance was in line with other major markets, including the UK up 6.5%, Hong Kong up 5.2%, the US up 4.9%, Germany up 4.0% and Singapore up 2.3%. Japan was down 0.1%.

BATS BZX Exchange System Status Update

BATS Global Markets reported an outage that lasted nearly an hour due to an internal network problem. BATS was unable to accept orders to its BZX exchange between 13:10 and 14:00 EST. 

HKEx Kicks Off Series of Events To Mark 20th Anniversary Of H-share Listings

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited kicked off a series of events to mark the 20th anniversary of H-share listings today (Tuesday) with a ceremony with representatives of the six companies that listed H shares in 1993, Tsingtao Brewery, Shanghai Petrochemical, Beiren Printing Machinery, Guangzhou Shipyard, Maanshan Iron & Steel and Kunming Machine Tool.

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), together with Phatra Securities pcl, and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, will hold “Thailand Focus 2013” during August 28-30 at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel, Bangkok, under the theme “Connecting to New Investment Frontiers,” enabling investors globally to get insights of Thailand’s economy, investment, and government policy. Tokyo Commodity Exchange July 2013 Volume Averaged 100,524 Contracts Per Day, Down 7%

The Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) announced today that July 2013 trading volume averaged 100,524 contracts per day, down 7% from June 2013. Average daily volume fell in its most active commodities such as Gold, down 12.8% to 47,716 contracts; Platinum, down 24.4% to 15,100 contracts; and Crude Oil, which was down 22.8% to 3,507 contracts.
