LSEG Announces Appointment Of New LCH.Clearnet Group CEO

LCH.Clearnet, the multi-national clearing house group, today announces that Suneel Bakhshi has been appointed as its new Group Chief Executive Officer. Subject to final regulatory approval, Suneel Bakhshi is expected to join the organisation in early 2014, at which point Jacques Aigrain, interim Executive Chairman will resume his position as Non-Executive Chairman of LCH.Clearnet Group, alongside his role as Non-Executive Director of London Stock Exchange Group (‘LSEG’).

OFT Clears EMCF And EUROCCP To Combine - New Pan-European Clearing House To Be Created Following Unconditional Clearance By The UK Competition Authority

EMCF and EuroCCP yesterday announce that the Office of Fair Trading (OFT), the UK's consumer and competition authority, has recommended an unconditional clearance for the two clearing houses to combine to form a new pan-European cash equities clearing house that builds on the strengths of both firms – http://www.oft.gov.uk/OFTwork/mergers/decisions/2013/ABNAmro.

UBS Securities Australia Ltd Pays $50,000 Infringement Notice Penalty

UBS Securities Australia Ltd ('UBS') has paid a penalty of $50,000 to comply with an infringement notice given to it by the Markets Disciplinary Panel ('MDP'). The penalty was for conduct which resulted in a market for a put option not being both fair and orderly.

Tokyo Commodity Exchange Foreign Trades 42.6% Of Total Volume In Sept.– All-Time High

The Tokyo Commodity Exchange, Inc announced today that the September 2013 monthly volume of customer trades (combined sell & buy orders) originating overseas accounted for 42.6 percent of the total trades, which is the all-time high. The volume of foreign customer trades and its percentage to the total trades on TOCOM markets began rising significantly after the launch of the current trading platform in May 2009. In the past three years, the ratio advanced from some 10 percentage points.

Good morning. Thanks for the invitation to be with you today. I used to work in the same building that houses your office in D.C., in the Hall of States. You must be the signature tenant there because every morning walking through the lobby I saw those big silver letters on the wall spelling out “American Gas Association.” As a Commissioner, I’ve learned a lot more about you than your name and have seen the remarkable work you do in the energy industry. So, it really is good to be here.

SIFMA Announces Key Findings Of Quantum Dawn 2

SIFMA today published a summary of the key findings derived from its Quantum Dawn 2 cybersecurity exercise held on July 18, 2013. The “After-Action” report was co-authored by Deloitte & Touche LLP, who served as an objective observer of the exercise and assisted in the preparation of this report to identify ways to improve the industry’s responses to cyber events.
