Lona Nallengara Named Acting Director Of SEC’s Division Of Corporation Finance
Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Elisse B. Walter today named Lona Nallengara as Acting Director of the Division of Corporation Finance. He will replace Meredith B. Cross when she leaves the SEC to return to the private sector at the end of the year.

Thanks very much. It's a pleasure to be part of this panel on the future of financial globalization. I will focus my remarks on one important aspect of this issue--namely, the growing use of wholesale dollar funding by global financial institutions. I'll begin by briefly discussing research I've been doing, along with my coauthors Victoria Ivashina and David Scharfstein, which examines some of the consequences of this funding model during times of market stress. I'll then touch on the policy implications of this and related work. Treasury International Capital Data For October
The U.S. Department of the Treasury today released Treasury International Capital (TIC) data for October 2012. The next release, which will report on data for November 2012, is scheduled for January 16, 2013.

Statement Of Support – Adaptation Of Regulations To Incorporate Swaps – Records Of Transactions, CFTC Chairman Gary Gensler
I support the final rule to amend 1.31 and 1.35(a) of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) regulations to conform them to recordkeeping requirements for swap dealers and major swap participants. The rule enhances the Commission’s enforcement program for the futures market to promote market integrity and protect customers.

CFTC Approves Final Rule On Adaptation Of Regulations To Incorporate Swaps – Records Of Transactions
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today approved a final rule to enhance the Commission’s enforcement program for the futures market. The rule amends CFTC regulations 1.35(a) and 1.31 to conform them to recordkeeping requirements for swap dealers and major swap participants under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
