ESMA Announces Financial Statements’ Enforcement Priorities For 2013

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published its European Common Enforcement Priorities (Priorities) for 2013. These Priorities are to be used by European Economic Area (EEA) national authorities in their assessment of listed companies’ 2013 financial statements.

Dubai Financial Market (DFM) received a high level delegation from the Republic of Yemen as part of DFM’s firm commitment to supporting efforts aimed at developing financial markets across various Arab countries including knowledge transfer and extending technical support to set up an exchange in Yemen. The visiting delegation attended a two-day extensive and comprehensive orientation program on various characteristics of the financial market.

Taiwan Stock Exchange Leads Delegation To London To Promote The Taiwan Capital Market

Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) will lead a delegation to London tomorrow to promote Taiwan’s recently announced market reforms. Mr. Michael Lin, President of TWSE, will meet representatives of financial think-tanks and global investors to provide an update on developments currently taking place on the Taiwan capital market, Taiwan’s open investment policy and its intention to move further in line with international practice. Through this visit, TWSE hopes to attract more international investment in Taiwan equities and boost the Taiwan capital market.

October marked another month of strong inflows for global ETFs/ETPs. Combining the US$32.6 billion of net inflows with positive market performance during October global ETF/ETP assets reached a new record high of US$2.3 trillion, according to preliminary findings from ETFGI’s October 2013 Global ETF and ETP industry insights report.

17 Thai Stocks Added To MSCI Indices Effective From Nov 27

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) revealed that MSCI Inc., a global index provider, would add 17 Thai stocks in its indices, consisting of two stocks – BTS and TMB – into the MSCI Global Standard Indices, and the other 15 stocks added in the MSCI Global Small Cap Indices. These changes result from MSCI’s semi-annual index review, and will be effective from November 27.

A Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE)  delegation recently visited Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the two exchanges.  Representing LuxSE at the signing ceremony were Mr. Frank Wagener, Chairman of Board of Directors, and the CEO, Mr. Robert Scharfe. Ms. Yang Yongping, Chairperson of Supervisory Board of SZSE, attended the MoU-signing ceremony.
