SWIFT Launches A New Business Continuity Service To Support High Value Payment Systems - Bank Of England adopts SWIFT’s Market Infrastructure Resiliency Service

SWIFT launches a new business continuity solution to support global payment systems. Developed by SWIFT, the Market Infrastructure Resiliency Service (MIRS) is a backup service for Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) systems - electronic platforms used for the continuous settlement of high value and multi-currency cash payments between banks.

HKFE Announces Revised Margins For CITIC Pacific Futures

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Wednesday, 12 March 2014, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contract will be as outlined in the table below. The adjustments are based on the clearing company's normal procedures and standard margining methodology.

Over 100 regulators from 35 jurisdictions who are members of the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR) are in Kuala Lumpur this week for the 8th IFIAR Inspection Workshop. The Workshop is a closed-door event to share technical skills, knowledge, practical experiences, relevant inspection findings and the identification of better practices in inspecting audit firms.

Thomson Reuters Establishes Subsidiary In Preparation For The Regulation Of Financial Benchmarks - New Subsidiary Achieves FCA Authorization For Thomson Reuters LIBOR Calculation Role And Will Assume Governance And Control Of Other Financial Benchmarks In Thomson Reuters 160-Strong Global Portfolio

Thomson Reuters today announced that it has established a new subsidiary to prepare for the regulation of financial benchmarks. Thomson Reuters Benchmark Services Limited (TRBSL), a subsidiary of Thomson Reuters Corporation, facilitates compliance with the IOSCO (International Organization of Securities Commissions) principles for benchmark administrators ahead of the 1 July 2014 deadline. Having already received FCA-authorisation for Thomson Reuters ongoing role as calculator of LIBOR (London Inter Bank Offered Rate), TRBSL intends to assume the governance and control of other financial benchmarks in Thomson Reuters 160-strong global benchmark portfolio.

Below are key highlights for the week ending 10 March 2014 (please click on the attachment for further detail):
- The SFI gained 0.09% to 116.38: the 8th weekly gain, out of 10 weeks YTD.
- YTD, bonds continue to outperform equities: 1.16% vs. -0.98%.
- YTD, corporate bonds outperform broader SGD bond market: 1.27% vs. 1.16%.
- Corporate industrial and financial bonds with maturities of 15+ years have performed strongly: up 3.67% and 2.81% respectively.

MNI Russia Consumer Indicator Falls To 94.1 In February From 99.3 In January - Sochi Olympics Fails To Lift Consumer Sentiment

The MNI Russia Consumer Indicator declined to the lowest level since the survey started in March 2013, led by a sharp fall in consumers’ views about the current state of their personal finances, with not even the winter games able to boost sentiment.
