Remarks By President Donald Tusk Following The First Session Of The European Council Meeting

As you know there is not yet an agreement between Greece and the Institutions and hence no agreement in the Eurogroup. That is why I asked the President of the Eurogroup to brief leaders on the state of negotiations with Greece. Leaders had a long discussion and are fully aware of the situation and potential consequences. We agree on our support for the Institutions and the current process of negotiations. Leaders have agreed there is no need for another Euro Summit, not tomorrow or over the weekend. Leaders expect the Eurogroup to conclude this process at their meeting on Saturday.

NZX Sells Its 50% Stake In Link Market Services NZ

After more than 10 years in a successful joint venture partnership, NZX today announces that its partner Link Market Services of Australia, a member of the Link Group, will purchase NZX’s 50% shareholding in Link Market Services (Link NZ). Link NZ is New Zealand’s leading provider of share registry services, with 12 of the S&P/NZX 20 issuers as clients.

As the Special Representatives of President Barack Obama and President Xi Jinping, U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew and Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang led the seventh meeting of the Economic Track of the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED) on June 23-24 in Washington, D.C. They were joined by a high-level delegation of Cabinet members, ministers, agency heads, and senior officials from both countries.

The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) today announced the final implementation of amendments to National Instrument 33-105 Underwriting Conflicts (NI 33-105). Also published in final form today are related CSA Multilateral Instrument 45-107 Listing Representation and Right of Action Disclosure Exemptions, Ontario amendments to OSC Rule 45-501 Ontario Prospectus and Registration Exemptions and an Ontario-specific amendment to Form 45-106F1 Report of Exempt Distribution.

John Roeser Named Associate Director Of The Office Of Market Supervision

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that it has named John C. Roeser as Associate Director and deputy head of the Office of Market Supervision in its Division of Trading and Markets. Mr. Roeser will assume his new role immediately.

European Parliament President Martin Schulz On Need For Greece Agreement: “We Are Called Upon To Carefully Weigh The Risks”

EP President Martin Schulz said he hoped a compromise on Greece would be reached shortly, allowing the country to stay in the euro zone. Speaking at the start of the European Council on 25 June, Schulz said: “We are called upon to carefully weigh the risks and choose the path least likely to make citizens liable for a crisis they have not caused.” He said a deal should also pave the way for improving the sustainability of Greek debt.
