Mizuho Americas Hires Brian Zarahn As Managing Director for Energy, Power & Alternative Energy Research Team

Mizuho Americas today announced the appointment of Brian Zarahn, CFA, as Managing Director for Mizuho Securities’ Energy, Power and Alternative Energy sector in North America. Brian will cover Energy Infrastructure and Master Limited Partnerships (MLPs) out of Mizuho’s San Francisco office, and will report to Sheryl R. Skolnick, Ph.D., Director of Research for Mizuho Securities USA.

HKEX: Scrip Dividend Scheme In Relation To The Final Dividend For The Year Ended 31 December 2015 Calculation Of Market Value

At HKEX’s annual general meeting held on 28 April 2016, the Shareholders approved the payment of the Final Dividend, as recommended by the Board, which will be payable in cash with a scrip alternative to the Shareholders whose names appeared on HKEX’s register of members on the Record Date. Pursuant to the Scrip Dividend Scheme and subject to the terms set out in the Circular, the eligible Shareholders have the right to elect to receive the Final Dividend in New Shares instead of in cash, or partly in New Shares and partly in cash.

Singapore’s 30th REIT, Manulife US REIT, Scheduled To List On Friday (20 May)

- The SGX S-REIT 20 Index has generated a 8.1% total return in the 2016 year through to the 17 May Singapore close. This compared to a 4.6% total return for the MSCI World REIT Index in Singapore dollar terms.
- On Friday afternoon, Manulife US REIT is scheduled to list on SGX. Manulife US REIT is a Singapore REIT established with the investment strategy principally to invest, directly or indirectly, in a portfolio of income-producing office real estate in key markets in the United States, as well as real estate-related assets.
- SGX currently lists five REITs categorised as “Office REITs”. These are CapitaLand Commercial Trust, Keppel REIT, Frasers Commercial Trust, OUE Commercial REIT and IREIT Global. The five REITs have all gained in the 2016 year through to the 16 May close, with average total returns at 8.2%. The five REITs also include the most recent entrant to the STI - CapitaLand Commercial Trust.

Dubai Financial Market Achieves 98% Compliance In Q1, 2016 Results Disclosure Of UAE Companies

Dubai Financial Market (DFM) today announced that its UAE listed companies have showed a 98% compliance to disclose their Q1- 2016 results within the deadline of 45 days from the end of the first quarter. Forty-Six UAE public joint stock companies listed on DFM successfully disclosed their quarterly results, while one company only, Gulf General Investments, has missed the cutoff date.

April 2016: Turnover Almost 10% Higher - The Statistical Monthly Report Contains The Latest Trade And Turnover Figures For SIX Swiss Exchange.

Trading turnover on SIX Swiss Exchange and SIX Structured Products Exchange Ltd increased by 9.7% month-on-month in April 2016 to CHF 127.0 billion. However, the number of trades declined by 12.0% compared to March to 3'709'919. Looking at the trend since the start of the year, a total of 17'661'640 transactions have been conducted on SIX Swiss Exchange and SIX Structured Products Exchange Ltd This represents a 3.5% decline year-on-year, largely due to the record-high transaction volumes in January 2015. The same effect was apparent in trading turnover, which came in down 10.6% year-on-year at CHF 477.9 billion.
