The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) and Nasdaq have officially signed an agreement to transform Tadawul’s post-trade technology infrastructure, which includes registry, depository and risk management technologies. In addition to the post-trade area, Nasdaq will continue to support the existing trading and market surveillance technology at Tadawul.

DCE Launches 24 Commodity Futures Indexes

Recently, Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) launched 24 commodity futures indexes, and so far DCE has published a total of 36 indexes of the commodity futures. According to the sources, the newly launched 24 indexes are all the single commodity indexes, including the 2 series: the price indexes of single commodity futures and the price indexes of dominant contracts of single commodity futures

Dalian Commodity Exchange: Claim Settlement For Corn “Insurance + Futures” Project Achieved In Zhenlai, Jilin

On November 23, a ceremony was held for the claim settlement of the corn “insurance + Futures” project, which was supported by Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) and launched by Hongye Futures, in Zhenlai County, Jilin Province, also a national-level poverty-stricken county. The project was one of the 32 “insurance + Futures” projects supported by DCE in 2017, providing protection against price rick for 22,000 tonnes of corn in Zhenlai County, with the insured farmers receiving a total of RMB 1.05 million in claim settlement. Attending the ceremony for the claim settlement were the officials of Hongye Futures, PICC Jilin Branch, Zhenlai County Government and DCE as well as the representatives of the insured farmers. A workshop on the “new models of financial service for ‘San Nong (agriculture, farmers and rural areas)’” was also held after the ceremony.

The total value of shares traded for the month  ending 30 November 2017 amounted to SAR 75.24 billion, increasing by 13.04% over the previous month; while total stock market capitalization reached SAR 1,659.08 billion at the end of this period, increasing by 0.85% over the previous month.

• The total value of shares purchased by “Saudi Investors” during this period amounted to SAR 71.42 billion representing 94.92% of total buying activity, and sales of SAR  68.93 billion representing 91.60% of total selling activity. Total ownership of “Saudi Investors” stood at 93.83% of total market capitalization as of 30 November 2017, representing an increase of 0.13% from the previous month. 
• The total value of shares purchased by “GCC Investors” during this period amounted to SAR 1.09 billion representing 1.45% of total buying activity, and sales of SAR 1.96 billion representing 2.60% of total selling activity. Total ownership of “GCC Investors” stood at 2.01% of total market capitalization as of 30 November 2017, representing a decrease of 0.07% from the previous month. 
• The total value of shares purchased by “Foreign Investors” during this period amounted to SAR 2.73 billion representing 3.62% of total buying activity, and sales of SAR 4.36 billion representing 5.80% of total selling activity. Total ownership of “Foreign Investors” stood at 4.16% of total market capitalization as of 30 November 2017 , representing a decrease of 0.06% from the previous month.
