Hong Kong's Securities And Futures Commission Consults On New OFC Rules And OFC Code

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) today launched a two-month consultation on the detailed legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the new open-ended fund company (OFC) structure. The OFC structure will enable investment funds to be established in corporate form in Hong Kong, in addition to the current unit trust form.

Securities Commission Malaysia And ASIC Sign Innovation Cooperation Agreement To Establish Fintech Bridge

Highlights
- The stock markets performed well in May. Cross-border large-cap index CES China 120 Index, or CES 120, rose 4.8 per cent
- Private IT companies were the focus of the market. CES P Elite surged 7.1 per cent
- Macau’s Gross Gaming Revenue, or GGR, is expected to return to its peak in 2013. CES Gaming Top 10 Index, or CES G10, surged 4.3 per cent
- Global stock markets continued to have strong performances. KOSPI rose 6.4 per cent. US stocks continued to rise despite expectations of an interest rate hike. S&P 500 Index rose 1.2 per cent
- The Mainland’s currency reform and the bottoming of its forex reserves prompted a hike in the RMB exchange rates
- PBC sought comments on Bond Connect, which will allow participation of overseas investors in the Mainland interbank bond market.
- HKEX will introduce physically settled CNH and US dollar gold futures contracts on 10 July
- Average daily turnover of FTSE China A50 Index futures traded in Singapore slipped by 1.8 per cent

Solactive and Candriam have joined forces to launch the Solactive Candriam Factors Sustainable Index Family offering exposure to companies with sustainable and responsible investing criteria as determined by Candriam’s SRI screening methodology. The family is composed of five fundamentally-weighted indices with factor tilts, including three equity and two fixed-income indices, which are used as the basis for five new ETFs issued by Candriam and trading on the Paris Euronext Stock Exchange (and cross-listed on Amsterdam Euronext).

Millennium Exchange Release 9.2 Oslo Børs – Adaption To MiFID II - Clarification

The Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway and others have indicated that MiFID II will not be implemented into Norwegian legislation by 3 January 2018. However, in any case Oslo Børs, will implement the adaptions to the trading systems, as previously announced.

The FinTech Association of Hong Kong was officially launched last night to champion an open, inclusive and diverse FinTech community in Hong Kong. The launch event was attended by over 300 guests from across the local FinTech, financial and wider business community. The Association is an independent, not-for-profit, member-driven association that draws its members from across the FinTech and wider financial industry.
