  • SIX Trading Key Figures: April 2019

    In April, trading turnover on the Swiss stock exchange was up 2.3% on the previous month and reached CHF 121.8 billion. There was also an increase in the number of transactions by 7.1% to 4,665,486. In comparison with the corresponding period last year, trading turnover was down by -5.5% at CHF 469.9 billion, while the number of trades dropped by -17.9% to 17,968,469. Since the beginning of the year, the SMI® rose by 15.9% and reached a new all-time high of 9769.74 points on 30 April.

  • EBA Launches Consultation On Technical Standards On The Standardised Approach For Counterparty Credit Risk

    The European Banking Authority (EBA) launched today a consultation on four draft Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) on the Standardised Approach for Counterparty Credit Risk (SA-CCR). These draft technical standards specify key aspects of the SA-CCR and represent an important contribution to its smooth harmonised implementation in the EU. The draft technical standards were developed based on the mandates included in the latest available version of proposed amended Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR2). The consultation runs until 2 August 2019.

  • New OCC Study: Listed Index And ETF Option Overlays May Improve Endowment Performance

    OCC, the world's largest equity derivatives clearing organization, today shared the results of a new study, Endowment Risk Management and Return Enhancement with Listed Index and ETF Options, that found that both buy-write and put spread collar overlays improved risk-adjusted performance within the study sample for small, mid-sized and very large endowments, with the small endowment portfolio seeing the largest benefits.
