• In January 2020, the average daily number of trades was 21% higher than the pcp. The average daily value traded on-market of $4.5 billion was up 21% on the pcp.  
• Volatility (as measured by the average daily movement in the All Ordinaries Index) was 0.6% in January (compared to 0.5% in the pcp).  
• Expected future volatility (as measured by the S&P/ASX 200 VIX) in January was an average of 12.4 (compared to 14.8 in the pcp).

CME Group Increases Regular Quarterly Dividend By 13 Percent

CME Group Inc., the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, today declared a first-quarter dividend of $0.85 per share, a 13 percent increase from the prior level of $0.75 per share. The dividend is payable March 25, 2020, to shareholders of record as of March 10, 2020.

I want to thank Darrell Duffie for inviting me to discuss the future of payments.1 Digitalization is enabling consumers and businesses to transfer value instantaneously, technology platforms to scale up rapidly in payments, and new digital currencies to facilitate these payments. By transforming payments, digitalization has the potential to deliver greater value and convenience at lower cost. But there are risks. Some of the new players are outside the financial system's regulatory guardrails, and their new currencies could pose challenges in areas such as illicit finance, privacy, financial stability, and monetary policy transmission.

ISDA To Re-consult On Pre-Cessation Fallbacks

ISDA has announced that it will re-consult on how to implement pre-cessation fallbacks. Based on the results of that consultation, ISDA will move quickly to deliver the appropriate, industry endorsed fallback solution later this year.
