On April 10, a series of investment and financing matching activities for enterprises invested in by the National Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Development Fund were successfully launched. Five enterprises from the fields of artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing and integrated circuit delivered online roadshows through the V-Next, SZSE’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Investment and Financing Platform. The roadshows were available through live streaming. Over 300 investment institutions and listed companies participated in the online interaction.

The Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) participated in the extraordinary meeting of the Committee of Heads of the GCC Financial Market Authorities chaired by H.E. Dr. Obaid Al Zaabi, SCA’s CEO. Held by videoconference, the meeting examined the GCC financial market conditions in light of the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. It came in response to a proposal by the UAE, as the presiding country, and was primarily held to discuss the efforts of the GCC financial market regulators in providing support to markets.

Dissenting Statement Of CFTC Commissioner Rostin Behnam Regarding CFTC’s Extension Of Currently Open Comment Periods In Response To The COVID-19 Pandemic

I strongly support extending all current open comment periods on rule proposals, which will allow commenters to solely focus their efforts on the immediate personal and professional needs of the day, and ensure – after we collectively get through these uncertain times – that commenters are able to provide the CFTC with the most fulsome comments to these important policy proposals.  Unfortunately, today’s Commission action does not extend current open comment periods in any meaningful way, and thus I respectfully must dissent.
