Chairman Rostin Behnam, sponsor of the Agricultural Advisory Committee (AAC), today announced the AAC will hold a public meeting on July 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. (EDT) at the CFTC’s Washington, D.C. headquarters. Members of the public will also have the option to attend virtually.

In June, the Chicago SurveyTM asked firms “In light of the recent talk of recession towards the end of the year, are you considering slowing hiring in upcoming months?”. A combined 41.7% were expecting to do so (equally split between responding yes and somewhat). 29.2% were not intending to slow hires, and a further 29.2% were unsure.

ESMA Finds Adequate Setup Of Measures To Reduce Volatility In Trading Of Energy Derivatives

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s financial markets regulator and supervisor, has today published its Report on the implementation and functioning of the Intra-day Volatility Management Mechanism (IVM). Following an assessment of the IVMs introduced by trading venues and identification of differences in the approaches taken in their implementation and calibration, ESMA finds that they have been adequately set up.  ESMA however also highlights some practical challenges.
