  • Shenzhen Stock Exchange Releases Two Guidelines for Asset-backed Securities Business to Improve Basic Rules and Serve National Strategies

    To further regulate the business of asset-backed securities and perfect the business rule system for asset-backed securities, on December 30, SZSE released No. 2 Guidelines for Confirmation Business of Listing Conditions of Asset-backed Securities-Classification Review (hereinafter referred to as the “Classification Review Guidelines) and No. 3 Guidelines for Confirmation Business of Listing Conditions of Asset-backed Securities-Specific Varieties (hereinafter referred to as the “Specific Varieties Guidelines”), setting out applicable standard and measures for optimization and key review of asset-backed securities, defining standard identification use and information disclosure requirements for specific varieties of asset-backed securities, further improving the review mechanism, enhancing the capabilities for direct financing in the bond market and better serving the real economy and national strategies.

  • The First China-South Korea Co-Compiled Index Product "China-South Korea Semiconductor ETF" Is Launched On Shanghai Stock Exchange

    On December 22, 2022, the China-South Korea Semiconductor Open-end Traded Securities Investment Fund (hereinafter referred to as China-South Korea Semiconductor ETF) of Huatai-Pinebridge Investments China Securities Index Co., Ltd. and Korea Exchange (KRX) was launched on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE). At the launching ceremony, Wang Hong, member of the Party Committee and Executive Vice President of SSE, delivered a speech, and Sohn Byungdoo, Chairman of KRX, sent his congratulations via video link. On the same day, four China-South Korea co-compiled index ETFs were launched on the KRX.

    On the morning of December 30, SZSE and Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) jointly held a launching ceremony of SZSE-SGX ETF Connect, marking the successful listing of the first pair of two-way SZSE-SGX ETF Connect products on SZSE and SGX. The ceremony was addressed by Vice Chairman Fang Xinghai of CSRC, Deputy Managing Director Leong Sing Chiong of Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Mr. Zeng Pai, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, Secretary of Party Work Committee of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone and Secretary of Nanshan District Committee, President & CEO Sha Yan of SZSE, CEO Loh Boon Chye of SGX and heads of fund and securities companies via video.

    Bursa Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia”) today announced amendments to its Business Rules and Listing Requirements to facilitate the continued operations of Bursa Malaysia and its subsidiaries on days declared as surprise holidays. A “surprise holiday” refers to a public holiday declared in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur that has not been gazetted as a public holiday at the start of the calendar year.
