Karen Lee Appointed, Head Of Listing, Regulation & Risk Management Hong Kong Exchanges And Clearing Limited

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) has appointed Ms Karen Lee as Head of Listing, Regulation & Risk Management. She succeeds Mr Lawrence Fok, whose appointment as Deputy Chief Operating Officer of HKEx and Chief Executive of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong with effect from 1 August was announced in June.

Hudson City Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq:HCBK) of Paramus, New Jersey, will become a component of the Nasdaq Financial-100 Index®, effective at the beginning of trading Monday, July 31, 2000. Hudson City Bancorp will replace Banco de Galicia y Buenos Aires S.A., which is being acquired by Grupo Financiero Galicia S.A.

The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on July 25, of the standard maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 10.6 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 20 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.
