New "S&P/TOPIX 150" index begins to be calculated and posted on the Tokyo Stock Exchange's website

From August 24,1999,the daily closing of S&P/TOPIX 150 Index began to be caluculated on a test basis. The previous day's closing of the index is posted on the Exchange's website every day.
Nasdaq To Extend Availability of Trade Reporting And Quotation Systems to 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time

The Nasdaq Stock Market® announced that due to a system error, Iridium World Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq:IRIQE) was erroneously reported to have been Nasdaq's second-largest percentage gainer today (August 26). Iridium's share price incorrectly showed an increase of 150.8 percent-or 5 ¾ points-to close at 10.

CME Basic Formula Price Milk Open Interest Tops 10,000

Open interest in Basic Formula Price (BFP) milk futures and options on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) surpassed 10,000 positions on August 25, including contracts on 50,000 pounds, 100,000 pounds and 200,000 pounds of milk. Total open interest totaled 10,342 on Wednesday.
Eurex-HEX Alliance Starts in September - Nokia tradable on Eurex/ Launch of Dow Jones Nordic STOXX 30 and FOX indices

The alliance between Eurex, the German-Swiss derivatives exchange, and HEX, the Finnish derivatives exchange, will be implemented in several steps starting on September 27. The two exchanges made the announcement on Tuesday. This will represent a significant expansion of the Eurex network in the direction of northern Europe.

The Oslo Stock Exchange commences negotiations regarding common Nordic market

Today, the Oslo Stock Exchange announced that it has decided to commence negotiations regarding a future co-operation with the Swedish-Danish exchange alliance Norex. At present Norex comprises the OM Stockholm Exchange and the Copenhagen Stock Exchange. The objective is to sign a letter of intent within the next few weeks.
