    In January 1,247,397 contracts were traded on MEFF. Bonos-10 futures traded 157,005 contracts, IBEX-35 futures traded 439,725 contracts, IBEX-35 options traded 87,093 contracts and options on shares 563,574 contracts. The most actively traded options in the month: Telefónica (285,667contracts), BBV (66,236), Endesa (66,217), BSCH (64,838), Repsol (27,756) and Iberdrola (20,430).

  • Eurex: No Adjustment Of The Options On Mannesmann-Shares

    The European derivatives market Eurex has decided not to adjust the options on Mannesmann shares due to a possible inequality towards the holders of Mannesmann options regarding the British Stamp Duty and the Stamp Duty Reserved Tax for Vodafone shares, as well as a possible inequality in the delivery of Vodafone shares in Germany.

  • Epcos Replaces Mannesmann In The DAX On Monday

    Epcos AG will replace Mannesmann AG in the DAX on Monday. Deutsche Börse made the announcement on Thursday. Before trading opened today, Vodafone Airtouch announced that by February 9, 11:00 p.m. (CET), 303,546,104 Mannesmann shares (60.3 percent) were registered for an exchange of shares. As already announced on Tuesday, Deutsche Börse will make the substitution of the two companies on Monday, February 14, 2000.   • CME Lean Hog Futures Set Open Interest Records

    For two consecutive sessions beginning on February 4, open interest in futures on lean hogs has set new records on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), culminating with a record 61,033 open positions on February 7. The previous record was set May 14, 1999, with 60,020 open positions.
